Case study
Priced out of Local Service Ads
Not advertising does not work for me. The thing that worked got too expensive and nothing obvious replaced it.
Winging it, then priced out of what worked
Aldo Solis runs a flooring business. Before this he was, in his own description, winging it: trying things that he thought should produce a return and watching them not. The one channel that did work for him was Google Local Service Ads, until the prices on those climbed far enough that he stopped.
That is a genuinely difficult position. Not "advertising does not work for me," but "the thing that worked has become too expensive and I do not know what replaces it."
He found us by asking around. The name came back from Courtney Lee, which is worth saying plainly: this was a referral from someone he already trusted, not a cold pitch.
What he said changed
In their words
"My situation was pretty much me just winging it, doing things that I thought were going to give me a good ROI and they never did, except for the local service ads. But now prices on those are crazy, and that is why I stopped doing it and searched for another alternative. The phone has been ringing. People have been calling me from the designated phone because they see the ad and they decide to investigate. The phone has been ringing, the forms are getting filled out. He really knows his stuff."
Aldo Solis
Flooring business owner
The phone ringing and forms filling, from a channel that replaced the one he had been priced out of.
A designated tracking number, which is the detail worth noticing. He knows those calls came from the ad because the ad has its own number. Most owners cannot tell you that, which is why most owners cannot tell whether their advertising works.
The lesson that generalises
When a channel prices you out, the instinct is to find a cheaper version of the same thing. Usually the better move is to go where the same buyer is but the auction is softer, and to make sure you can prove which calls came from where before you spend a month arguing with yourself about it.
Tracking is not admin. It is the thing that makes every later decision cheap.
What is and is not disclosed here
The numbers on this page are the ones the owner stated on camera, in their own words. Ad spend, campaign structure and contract values are not published, because they were not disclosed and we will not estimate them.
This was hands-on work: Tyrone ran these accounts himself. It predates any of our software. These owners are not software customers.
